AFTER last week's heavy defeat at home to East Stirlingshire, Gala Fairydean Rovers will be aiming to bounce back when they travel to Peffermill to face Edinburgh University in the Lowland League on Saturday. The Students have proved to be tricky opponents in the past but both teams are locked on the same number of points and Gala will be hoping to start climbing the league table again. Cost of the return trip for the supporters bus is just £6.
Transport departs from the clubrooms at 12.30p.m.

GFR under 13s produced a fantastic performance away to Portobello CFA Thistle to come away with a 1-0 victory. On a difficult surface Gala still managed to produce some good spells of play but more importantly worked their socks off collectively and showed plenty of character in a battling performance. Jack Niven capped an excellent performance with the games only goal midway through the second half but it was an outstanding display from the whole squad and in particular the back four of Joe Charlton, Aaron Milburn, Dougray Seggie and Jon McLean and goalkeeper Paddy Beatt. Next game is Dunbar United on Sunday. Kick off at the 3G Arena is 11am.
The under 14s went down 7-1 away to Kirkliston South Queensferry on Sunday. This Sunday the team are away to North Merchiston. Transport times to be given at training.
IT'S a double header involving the under 15s and Spartans at the 3G Arena this Sunday. The under 15s team host Spartans, kick off 12.30p.m., in the Federation of Hearts Supporters Cup.

The under 16s secured a hard-earned 1-1 draw away to Spartans FC Whites on Sunday. This Sunday the team are on their travels again away to North Merchiston FC on league business.
A SENSATIONAL fightback with five goals in the final 20 minutes saw the under 17s progress in the Michael Moran League Cup with an 8-5 victory over Cramond Blues at a very foggy Netherdale on Saturday. The Gala scorers were Jack Swaney(3), Patrick Carlin, 2, Luke Miesner, Andrew Callow and Tyler Grainger. The team have now qualified for the semi finals where they will play Musselburgh Windsor Blues. But first up this Saturday the under 17s travel to play Musselburgh Windsor Young Stars in the Prison Officers Cup.
