GFR WEEKLY UPDATE

WILLIAM HILL SCOTTISH CUP

GALA Fairydean Rovers look forward to their biggest game of the season so far this Saturday when they welcome Fraserburgh to Netherdale in the first round of the William Hill Scottish Cup.

The Highland League outfit have an impressive pedigree in the national cup competition having recently beaten Dalbeattie Star, Edinburgh City and Civil Service Strollers as well as Division Two side Montrose.

Last season they performed well in the Scottish Cup before losing out 3-1 to Falkirk. Managed by Mark Cowie, 'The Broch" are currently sitting in fourth place in the Highland League table and will provide stern opposition for the Braw Lads.

Premier Club cards do not apply for the cup tie.

Admission prices are £7 for adults and £3 concessions.

Kick off at the 3G Arena is 3p.m. If the teams are level after 90 minutes, the replay will take place at Fraserburgh the following Saturday.

The financial incentives for progressing in the Scottish Cup are very lucrative so hopefully GFR supporters will be out in force to cheer on the team.
