DERBY DAY

GALA Fairydean Rovers will be going for their third Borders derby in a row when Selkirk visit the 3G Arena on Saturday.Victories over Hawick Royal Albert and Vale of Leithen have helped Gala climb the Lowland league table.Selkirk will be tough opposition but it is sure to be another entertaining game.Prermier Club cards apply for this match. Otherwise the admission charges are £5 for adults and £3 concessions.Kick off at the 3G Arena is 3p.m.

LOTTO

NO tickets matched the numbers 5, 7 and 18 in the Gala Fairydean Rovers Lotto draw. That means the estimated jackpot next weekend is £400.

RAFFLE PRIZES

THERE are still raffle prizes still to be collected from the recent Christmas draw.They belong to Marcus Naylor from Stow, Joey Shannon from Selkirk, Katy Aitchison from Galashiels, William Thomson from Galashiels, Frank Harvey from Innerleithen(2), Diane Palmer from Jedburgh, Tara Jefferies from St Boswells, W.Waddell from Selkirk and Adam Taylor.The clubrooms will be open on Saturday and Sunday from 10am onwards for prizes to be picked up.

BONUS BALL

The winner of the Gala Fairydean Rovers Bonus Ball draw with number 38 was Kenny Riddell who won £25.

2004 SQUAD

Gala played out an entertaining 2-2 all draw with Hutchison Vale Colts at the 3G Arena on Sunday. After starting slowly GFR found themselves 1-0 down midway through the half as Paddy Beatt's clearance hit a Hutchy striker and rolled over the line. Jack Niven equalised from the spot before half time after he was upended following a mazy run. Gary Flinn gave Gala the lead with 20 minutes remaining following good work from Damien Konowalski before a breakaway goal from Hutchy ensured the game finished all square. Good performances all round particularly from Dougray Seggie, Dylan Ellins, Kerr Johnston, Joe Charlton, Jon McLean and Tor McGillivray. Next up is a Belmont Cup tie at home to Peebles on Sunday. Kick off at the 3G is 11am.

2003 SQUAD

The under 14s recorded an excellent 4-2 victory away to St Bernards on Sunday. The home side were previously unbeaten in the league so far this season. But goals from Sebastian MacKay(2), Jamie Palmer and Adrian Kulik sealed the win. This Sunday the team is at home to Leith Athletic Colts. Kick off at the 3G Arena is 12.30p.m.

2002 SQUAD

The under 15s drew 3-3 away to Cavalry Park on Sunday. Meanwhile, the under 15s Colts gave an excellent account of themselves despite going down 3-2 at home to Musselburgh Athletic Whites. Gala were reduced to 10 men early on after a last man challenge but worked hard for the rest of the match and deserved to take something for their efforts. The Gala scorers were Danny Hollywood and Kieran Bryson. This Sunday the under 15s are away to Hutchison Vale Colts while the under 15s Colts are at home to Musselburgh. Kick off on the Netherdale back pitches is 12.30p.m.

2001 SQUAD

The under 16s defeated Cramond 4-1 at the Public Park on Sunday. They play the same opposition in a League Cup tie away from home this Sunday. Transport times to be given at training.

2000 SQUAD

The under 17s were held to a 2-2 draw against Peebles at the 3G Arena on Saturday. Luke Meisner and Fraser Jackson(penalty) got on the scoresheet for Gala. This Saturday the team is away to Musselburgh.
