TITLE DECIDER?
WHAT a game is in prospect at the 3G Arena on Saturday. East Kilbride need a victory to clinch the Lowland League title. But despite the squad being stretched due to a number of injuries, Gala Fairydean Rovers are in a good run of form and will make it tough for the Lanarkshire outfit.
Premier Club cards are valid for this match. Otherwise the admission prices are £5 for adults and £3 concessions.
Kick off at the 3G Arena on Saturday is 3p.m.
2004 SQUAD
The under 13s went down to a 5-1 defeat at Spartans on Sunday. Despite missing some regulars Gala started well but found it hard to contain the hosts with their energy and pressing game as the game went on. 3-0 down at half time, Gala again only seemed to play for a 10 minute spell in the second half and scored probably the goal of the game during it when Damien Konowalski expertly finished a fine flowing move but playing well for short periods was never going to be enough against the strong Spartans side.
Next up is a home league game against Portobello CFA Thistle on Sunday.
Kick off at the 3G is at 11am.
2002 SQUAD
The under 15s got back to winning ways with a 3-2 victory over Currie Star at a sun-drenched 3G Arena on Sunday. Goals from Lewis Smith and Danny Hollywood put Gala in the driving seat. The visitors got back on level terms in controversial circumstances. But Gala maintained their discipline and Hollywood bagged the winning goal near the end.
This Sunday the team is away to Dunbar United Colts in a league match.
2001 SQUAD
The under 16s are away to Longniddry Villa Colts in a league match on Sunday. Transport times to be given at training.
2000 SQUAD
Despite working hard, the under 17s lost 7-1 away to Currie Star on Saturday. Chris Parker scored the Gala goal from the penalty spot.
This Saturday, the team is at home to Musselburgh Young Stars. Kick off at the 3G Arena is 12 noon.
LOTTO
THERE were no winning tickets in the weekly Gala Fairydean Rovers Lotto draw. The numbers were 1, 5 and 16. That means the estimated jackpot this weekend is a mouth-watering £1,000.
Tickets will be on sale in the clubrooms this weekend up until 2p.m. on Sunday.
BONUS BALL
The winner of the £50 prize in the weekly Gala Fairydean Rovers Bonus Ball competition with number 28 was Mo Brown.
3G PITCH
SPECTATORS are reminded to stay off the 3G pitch as only the proper footwear is allowed to protect the surface. There are plenty of good viewing areas for the junior matches behind the white barriers.
