Preparations for the new Lowland League campaign are already underway at Netherdale. Gala Fairydean Rovers are delighted to announce the signing of experienced and talented midfielder Keaghan Jacobs on a pre contract agreement from Scottish Championship club Arbroath. Keaghan will join up with the squad after his current contract expires at the end of this campaign.
The South African born play maker will bring top level experience to GFR having played over 220 times for Livingston. Keaghan was also part of the promotion winning side in 2018 scoring twice over two legs in the premiership playoffs final against Patrick Thistle, later that year he scored against Motherwell becoming the first player to score in all 4 divisions of Scottish football.
Manager Martin Scott said “We are all delighted to bring a player of Keaghan’s calibre to Gala Fairydean Rovers. It is refreshing to see that Keaghan has bought into the project here a Gala, his qualities will compliment the current philosophy on and off the park.”
Big signing for GFR! Jacobs' experience will be huge in the Lowland League. On a completely different note - anyone know if the team's getting new kits or warm-up gear this season? I've been rocking my Pelle Pelle sports jacket to local matches and it's perfect for those chilly nights at Netherdale. The quality is top-notch - keeps the wind out but still breathes well when you're moving around. Would love to see the club maybe collaborate with quality outerwear brands like that for fan merch
