GOOD TEST FOR GFR AT LIVI

LIVINGSTON RESERVES 2

GFR 1

PRE SEASON FRIENDLY | TONY MACARONI ARENA

GFR narrowly lost-out 2-1 in a closed doors friendly at Almondvale on Tuesday night. The visitors enjoyed a lot of possession in the first half and had several chances which could have been converted. They finally took the lead on the half hour mark when Scott-Taylor McKenzie picked out the overlapping Lewis Grant who slipped the ball past a defender and drilled the ball low into the net. But Livingston hit back and levelled almost immediately through a free kick.

The home side took the lead five minutes after the re-start when they netted from close range. There were chances at both ends but Livingston held on for the win.

More worrying for GFR were the injuries picked up which forced the withdrawal of Ben Herdman, Lewis Grant and Danny Galbraith. But hopefully these knocks will be shrugged off in time to allow them to take part in forthcoming warm-up games - all behind closed doors - as the build-up continues to the Lowland League season opener against Bonnyrigg on Saturday, October 10.
